Bear Visitor Bean builds studios inside occupied buildings, which is most of what exists in the Paris area. The technical problem is rarely the room itself. It is the flat above, the office next door and the lease that says nothing audible after eight in the evening. Those constraints decide the construction before any acoustic preference does. We start by measuring what passes between spaces and what the structure can carry, and we tell people early when a project cannot work in the building they have chosen.
A studio that works acoustically and gets shut down by the building has not been built successfully.
